Project brief: To convert a roof terrace into a children's play area at the Harley Street Paediatric Hospital. The roof terrace was originally covered with concrete slab flooring and surrounded by low level railings and a dangerous fall hazard. Some patients and visitors had previously commented on the lack of greenery and nature around the hospital.

Flights of Fantasy designed the play area to provide a green, natural woodland scene with stream into the centre of London. The woodland scene was hand painted and included rabbits, deer and birds amongst the trees and an owl on the roof of the Tudor House.
The area was unsuitable for tall play equipment and so the single storey playhouse and small pirate ship offer an excellent escape for children either visiting or patients at the hospital.
The flooring was created from synthetic grass and offers a realistic, safe flooring away from the hard concrete and tile floors common around the hospital.
