Flights of Fantasy head back to RHS Chelsea 2008 with the Jellybean Kids Appeal Having wowed the prestigious show’s judges and fellow exhibitors alike by being the first ever newcomers to win the trophy for Excellence in Presentation, we will be heading back to Chelsea this year intent on creating an even more impressive garden and play scheme. The 2008 Chelsea playhouse will be a whimsical, moated Tudor creation complete with half-timbering, stucco detailing and a thatched roof that is certain to captivate and fuel the imagination of adults and children alike. In keeping with late Medieval and Tudor properties of the time, the garden, which has been designed by Jenny Rogers, will feature a formal interior with a natural stone forecourt, lawns and beds of herbs. Meanwhile, meander through an arched gantry and a wilder and woolier external area – also authentic to 16th Century landscaping – will be planted with strawberries, blackberries, wild red roses and ferns. This year we are working alongside the NHS Wirral University Teaching Hospital’s children’s charity, the Jellybean Kids’ Appeal. Children involved with Jellybean have been invited to participate in a competition to name the RHS Chelsea 2008 Flights of Fantasy garden and the winner, plus three other children, will put the Flights of Fantasy Tudor House through its paces on press day , 20th May, possibly with the help of surprise celebrity guests!
