As part of the Dreamland amusement park in Margate, we built a modern day Noah’s Ark, complete with animals. In true Noah’s Ark style, the huge structure now houses many different animals for the enjoyment of families, operating as a petting ark – like a petting zoo, but in an ark!
We first visited the site to get the available dimensions of the ark before putting together a few sketches and finally coming up with digital plans of how we wanted the finished ark to look. Once the plans were approved, we made the ark at our workshop in Norfolk before dissembling it and transporting all of the pieces to Dreamland. Once there, we reassembled the ark, giving the finished piece that you see.
This was an exciting project to be park of, flexing our creative brains in the direction of a new boat design, unlike any of the pirate ships we have built before.
Scenic Sweets Gift Shop
In addition to building the petting ark, we also built a simple gift shop named Scenic Sweets. The gift shop is made from wood, as with most of our creations, and offers wheelchair access and custom built shelves to display merchandise.
All Part Of The Fun
Dreamland has a huge assortment of activities to keep families entertained for hours and it was a pleasure to contribute something new to their site. We hope that it brings lots of fun, encouraging children to learn more about animals and become more involved in nature.
A Growing Fleet
A petting ark isn’t all we built at Dreamland. In addition to the aforementioned gift shop, we also made a simple outdoor pirate ship. You can read more about the Dreamland Pirate Ship here.
Noah’s Petting Ark was a completely bespoke creation, unlike anything we have made before. We relish the challenge of making something completely new, and look forward to the ideas that our clients come up with. If you are looking to commission your own unique design, please get in contact with us.
