Holkham Hall Combine Harvester

Holkham Hall is an 18th century country house and gardens located close to the coast in rural Norfolk. The estate offers relaxing days out for families and they asked us to build a combine harvester to engage children in imaginative play. We based the combine upon a Ben Burgess combine harvester and the finished piece resembles the real machine whilst offering large play potential, with a slide and ladder attached at the back of the creation. There is even a cab with a seat and steering wheel for children (and overzealous adults) to sit in!

A True-To-Life Replica

With all of our miniature play replicas, we try to capture the main features of what we are recreating without inhibiting play potential. Obvious features from the combine that we wanted to capture were the boxy, upright design and the rotating head that is used to harvest crops.
