Part of our ever expanding play pirate ship armada, this design is a play pirate ship that we built for Great Meols Primary School, one of the Wirral’s largest primary schools. This compact design features a slide, climb net, slide pole, ladders, two accessible levels, and a plank – which we think should be part of all pirate ships – so it has lots of play potential to offer to all. We installed a rubber chip safety floor to minimise the risk of injury to all little pirates as they sail the seven seas.
Installing the Pirate Ship
We built this pirate ship at our workshop in Norfolk, then transported the pieces to Great Meols Primary School where we set a wooden frame into the ground that the structure would rest on. We then laid the rubber chip safety flooring and dug out a hole for mast which was then inserted into a metal sleeve. Finally we put up the pirate ship and fixed it in place, along with all play features and the mast.
Designing Your Pirate Ship Play Area
Use this, along with our other play pirate ship creations as inspiration for your own project. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us to discuss your play project – we have years of experience designing and creating play areas, and we can work from strict plans or create something entirely from scratch.
