We were asked by Waverley Borough Council to design a brand new outdoor play area that was destined to replace old, obsolete play equipment at the Holloway Hill Recreation Ground. Local residents got the chance to vote on their favourite design and ours was selected as the winning design, allowing us to turn our idea into reality.
The large play area, which opened in July 2015, is naturally themed and is packed with features. As well a two storey oak playhouse, play features include a tower, rope V-bridge, net traverse, stilt posts, arch bridge, balance beams, wobble board, and even new benches. There are log frames to climb on, slides to slide down, and a see saw to… see saw on.
Thoughtfully designed this play area is an excellent example of how we can create a huge amount of fun and activity in simple, cost effective ways. Even the benches, built at different heights for adults and children, have been built with careful thought and attention. We make all of our play equipment to order, we hold no stock and every piece is purpose built. Every project is personal and gets its own unique touch and at Holloway Hill, at the centre of the play area, sits a circular bench with a custom made ‘Waverley’ sign.
We hope that local residents love the play area that they chose and voted on.
Holloway Hill Trim Trail
In addition to the natural play area that we built at this site, we also built the Holloway Hill Trim Trail, offering multiple pieces of exercise apparatus designed to help improve fitness and strength, targeted towards older children and adults. This particular trim trail is quite a simple one, but still manages to incorporate thirteen pieces of exercise apparatus, putting the space available to good use.
