Miniature Pepperpot Play Area

A True-To-Life Replica Of Godalming Pepperpot

Based upon The Pepperpot, the iconic symbol of Godalming, we built this miniature replica play area for Moss Lane School. The real Pepperpot was formerly known as The Old Town Hall and stands on Godalming High Street, so is an instantly recognisable local symbol. Our aim was not to make an exact clone of the real Pepperpot, but to capture the main features and make an engaging piece of play apparatus. Despite its small size, this play area incorporates a climb net, slide pole, slide, climb wall, ladder, two accessible levels, and The Pepperpot’s characteristic clock tower. Due to the popularity of this piece of play apparatus, we came back a couple of years later for phase II and installed a play tractor, play house, and rustic play equipment. See the full play area here.

Phase II: A Full Play Area

Due to the success of this piece of play apparatus, we came back to expand the play area. The expanded play area featured a play tractor, a playhouse, and rustic adventure play apparatus. You can see more about the expanded play area here.

Designing The Pepperpot

As with all our designs, this was a bespoke design and we started out by taking a look at the real Pepperpot. We then created sketches, capturing the key features of the building, and put the structure together by hand in our workshops in Norfolk.
